Woodstove!

John, Grampa & Daddy went to get our new woodstove!  The boys are supervising the big move to the basement!!

Sliding buddies!

With the piano gone & the Christmas tree down, I decided the boys needed some physical activity with the cold weather... So I brought up the slide cube from the basement.  As you can see, they love it!!

Momma still has pneumonia!

After a few weeks and a bunch of antibiotics, she still has it.  Awful! Daddy was sick on and around Christmas.  Maddox is coughing and hacking.  Preschool teaching you about GERMS too!!! maybe soon we'll feel better and get some more posts up.

Sleeeeepy boy.

Mimi came over today for a few hours to help with the boys while Daddy worked at Joanie & Gary's painting.  Mommy and Mimi got the Christmas tree put away, but Colton took off all the ornaments!  We also moved the cube slide upstairs because Maddox is really into climbing on the chairs / table, so I figured we should give him something safe to climb on!  He has learned how yo climb up the back & slide down on his own, but as you can see, he got really tired!  :)  Thanks to Mimi for watching the boys so Mommy could get groceries, go to the post office, and go to Rite Aid!  :)

Building

Daddy is sick and taking a nap, so Colton decided to "build grandma good's house."  We are sure having fun this Christmas Eve!  We already baked peanut butter cookies for Santa too!

Mommy had pneumonia!

Mommy went to Florida for work, and Mimi and Maddox came too.  While in Florida, Mommy went to Urgent Care and got a chest xray & was diagnosed with pneumonia.  One day when Mommy was laying on the couch coughing a lot, Colton came in and said, "I am sorry that I coughed on you and made you sick, Mama."  Awwwww!!!   After a whole week off work when Daddy was taking  care of Mommy, she finally went back to work today!  Yippeee for feeling better!

Little Drawing Boy

Tis the season for the Little Drummer Boy but our little boy is showing signs of being the next little drawer boy!  Maddox grabbed the marker and tried to draw with it.  SO CUTE!

Colton said the other day, "Momma I am so sad that the doctor hurt Gooey, my best friend Gooey, I dont like that they made him cry."  Talking about when he got shots, MY BEST FRIEND!  AWW

Maddox 1 Year Doctor Visit

Maddox went to the doctors yesterday for his 1 year check-up and shots.  Colton told momma the following morning that the doctor was there and he was hurting his best friend Gooey!  AWWW, his best friend Gooey.

They did hold him down for two shots in his legs.  The nurse also pricked his finger to get blood out and he didnt like that.

Ok dad. Whats the first step to playing? Check 1: build the fort! Check. Check 2: play cars! We better get playing dad!

Turkey time with Thanks

Poor Colton has been super duper sick this holiday.  Terrible cough, fever, hard time breathing.  He is finally coming around the bend and feeling better slowly.  Colton and momma missed dinner at uncle Evans and Tiffanys but we skyped with daddy's phone.

We had two special gatherings with our families and gave Thanks to God.  I think Grampa Smith put it best:

I am so thankful for waking up in our warm little palace, on a beautiful sunny morn. For a wonderful close knit Family. And how lucky we all are in so many ways as compared to millions around the world. Here's wishing a blessed today and thousands of similar tomorrows for us all.

Deer hunting season

Opening day of gun season.  Daddy got a doe and could not find the second one.  John got a doe and dropped it off at our house to hang up.  I found the deer decoy bow target climbed the ladder for some reason.  Ha ha ha.
Grampa got a button buck with his bow.  First deer with a bow!!!

Daddy finished up with 4 deer in total!!!  WOWWEE DADDY.  2 Doe, 1 Button Buck, and 1 Eight Point Buck!

Colton Loved it!  He was so proud of his Daddy, it was cute.  Maddox liked it too, he was touching the eyes and nose and tongue.  Ha Ha.  Bucky story: I went out the second day of gun season and it was WINDY!  I told John, "Big Wind = Big Buck!"  Turns out by luck I was right!  Two doe were trying to cross in front of my tree stand and surprised me ten yards away sneaking up behind the tree.  They scared me and I scared them, we could hear each other.  They turned and started to run but stopped and acted funny.  I looked closer to see a few other doe and then nothing but two big antlers sticking out around a tree!  The doe started moving off West and the buck started to follow.  I picked a spot and took a shot about 85 yards.  Found a little blood after 100 yards but not much more.  went home changed clothes and Leo came to help, which by the way was fun hanging out with Leo for a change.  Found more blood 100 yards away from the original and the trail continued with good blood for quite a ways.  The blood stopped at the edge of the corn field and I thought all was lost.  Took another break, went back and went row by row looking through the corn.  Finally about 3/4 of the way through the field I peaked my head through the row and he was laying down!   A great HUNT!  I will remember it well when looking at the mount.

Back to the story.  Maddox spits out words that arent words yet.   We are pretty sure his favorite words is "backum!"  He'll get going and say it three or four times "backum bagum backum."

Dad's away...

So the boys will play!!  Had fun today hanging out with Papa while mommy went to DAR.  Sisi brought over donuts this morning too!  Best part is Dad comes home tomorrow from his hunting adventure!!!

Dansville

Cold snowy morning in dansville for annual hunting trip.  Colton has called several times and misses daddy, grampa, and GG.   We of course miss him and all our families too!  GG is worried about Buffy their new cat, "hope he makes it while I'm gone."

John saw a big monster eight or ten driving yesterday so we're after him.  And some guy has trail cam pictures of a huge black bear!

Mommas special day

Super duper happy birthday momma!!!  Maddox and mothernature let mommy sleep in a whole extra hour!  Colton and daddy made chocolate chip apple pancakes.  Colton and Maddox made a birthday card and birthday airplane.   Nonna and Grampa took pictures of our boys in matching shirts and surprised momma with a beautiful frame. Mimi made yummy dinner party with aunt deb bruce papa sisi and we missed charlie.

When i got home from hunting Saturday colton was at the dinner table and asked if i got a bucky.  I said no and for the first time he put his hands over his mouth and started crying!  I asked what was wrong and he responded, "i i i (sniffle sniffle) want you to get a Bucky!"  More tears and sobbing.

Hard Lesson to not Learn

Getting rolling this morning and Elissa starts saying, NO Maddox NO!  I walk into our room and he is splish splashing in the toilet!  GROSS!!!  I look at him and say, NO NO YUCKY and pull him away in an attempt to make him feel bad about it or something.  He plops down and looks at me with a huge smile/smirk like HA HA Dad.  I dont think he learned his lesson here.

He wont be smirking when he reads this someday.  HA HA Maddox!  

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl bread

First of all, did I spell Raisin correctly?

Colton and Daddy were eating up some yummy toast with butter on it this morning and he pushes the pieces around to find just the right one.  I asked him, what are you doing?  He responded, I like this one because it has LOTS of GLITTER on it!!!  HA HA HA  He was referring to the melted butter.  YUM he says and takes a monster bite.

Then he holds it up after a few more bites and says, doesn't this look like an F?

Hi Loralei

<p>Obviously colton has been having lots of fun with the Gailie girls lately... we went to genesee country village trick or treating and of course miss susies on Monday.   Monday evening we were playing cars and trains and Colton yells out "come on Loralei lets play trucks!"

Good Ole Coats

Not sure if "Coats" has been introduced to the blog, but Coats is Colton's best good imaginary buddy!  Momma asked Colton to pick up his books this morning and Colton responded with, "I dont think thats a good idea because Coats said he was coming over to help you instead of me.  Do you want me to call him momma?  Yea let me call him...  55112983 Hello Coats how are you doing?  Are you coming over to help pick up these books today?  YOU ARE!  great ok Coats see you in a while.  Momma coats said he's coming over and it will be about 10 minutes because he lives in Rochester, but its a different Rochester than Sisi."

Sisi's new adventure

We helpes move sisi into her new home in charlotte! Just down the road (one mile) from work.  We had fun playing with the big exercise ball, keys, and exploring the new home.  Uncle Bruce Aunt debbie papa Mimi liz sara evan helped move stuff.  Daddy drove a uhaul mover truck.  Colton gave sisi a "house warmer" present.  House warmer ha ha

At grampa and nonnas there is a matchbox car that looks like a spider. Colton gets there and everytime finds that spider car to chase nonna around making here scream.

Day one adventure

Today is my first day off work and Colton had fun.  Me too.  We went to doctor beaneys and found out Colton had a lovely ear infection.   But atleast there was this cool car in the doctors room!  Then we went to home depot to check out blown in insulation cost and Colton boy tried out a zero turn mower.   And then we went to rite aid to get medicine.  Colton sees the adult diapers and was really checking them out. So i asked whatcha looking at? He says i was looking at these pink marshmallows in the package. Ha ha ha.

Good times with Grampa

Grampa took Colton to the fishing derby at the Archers club down on the Oak Orchard!   Apparently he yelled out to the guys," how'd you catch that big fish? "

Colton told Grampa as they left, "wow Grampa that was a great adventure! !"

Sleeping in

I figured something out this morning.  Only took three and a half years of being a parent.  When you are a parent understand the definition of sleeping in changes.  Sleeping in no longer involved the afternoon, rolling around for hours, watching tv, thinking about getting up, etc.  I slept in this morning because I woke up on my own accord.  Dogs did not wake me up, kids did not wake me up, an alarm did not wake me up, I was ready to get up.  This morning I woke up at 7:05am ready to go, I slept in!

Colton:  ummm...  from my father, that's you.

Hunting

Dad: today is the first day of hunring season
Colton: I want to go too!  I have been a very good listener!
Dad:  weeellll...  You have to be really quiet and wait for bucky.
Colton:  I can do that!

Haha!!!  Maybe there is a deaf 14 pt buck out back just waiting for "quiet" colton.  :)

Helicopter and Maddox walking

Colton went with Grampa yesterday to see a Helicopter!  Mr. Heard let him check it all out, sit in it and everything (I think, according to Colton).   How cool.

Maddox is just about walking.  He can stand up stable for a good 20 seconds and takes about 2 steps and sits down.  Holy moly we need to Maddox proof the house!

Yeaaaah for Sisi!

Sisi found out today that she passed her big test!!!  Mama called her to say CONGRATS and left a voicemail.  Colton said I was too loud and should be quiet excited next time.  Then he asked if Sisi did a good enough job to get a sticker!!!  :)  I said she did so well she could have TWO!!!  :)

Baby

Colton said tonight that he has a baby in his tummy and it's going to be ready to come out soon.  :)  ha!

Carrot Party

"I'm havin' a carrot party for Uncle Bunky.  I'm makin' a cake!"  Dad says, be careful with that fork, it's sharp.  Colton:  i'm always careful, dad!

GUN range

Maddox took bus first trip to the gun range in the backyard when John came over.  He had to try out his new remington shotgun for deer.season 2011.  Maddox got scared after three shots but he was ok with daddy.  Good shooting John!

Secrets make for good surprises! Santa hopes Mr. Colton continues to be a good boy!  Yes there is an emergency pull cord for beginners.  Who knew this could be so much fun.  Santa called Mrs Claus to go downstairs to keep the workshop creations secret!

Stopped for a quick "break" @ the wildlife sanctuary on the way home from a busy day at the zoo with the Gailie family and to see Alex, Amber and Joe in Buffalo.

Newman

This post is over due and I was avoiding it a little bit I'm sure.  Saturday October 1st, 2011 Uncle Brian Bunky Newman Buckner passed away.  A very sad time with some GREAT memories of a truly kind hearted man.  It was amazing to hear that Unka Bunky went out of his way to avoid going to heaven until it was after birthdays and after when people came to visit he wanted to say goodbye to. This gesture and his comments like, "it wont be long now," "sorry its taking so long," and "you better get going and get back to your life," made me realize how caring he is for everyone else except himself.

May the Lord bless him and keep him.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon him, 

and be gracious to him.

May the Lord lift up his countenance upon him, 

and give him peace.

Unka Bunky

'Went to Buckville last night for a memorial bonfire for Uncle Bunky.  On the way to packing up and getting in our truck Colton says, "there's unka bunky's truck.  Did he walk to where he is now in Heaven?"  We told him that God and Jesus helped carry him.  :')

A new name for Grampa

This morning Daddy dropped off Colton at Grampa and Nonna's before Nonna took Colton to preschool.  Grampa reported back that he was wrestling with Colton a bit a Colton yells out, "GET OUT OF HERE NAKED HEAD!"

What was your favorite part about the trip to Splash Lagoon?
Colton: Eating smoothies and going down everything!
Mommy: Going down the slides at night and watching Colton on the Maui Wowee.
Daddy: I liked the slides and giggling and hot tubs and everything.

So much fun on day one! Colton has grown so much since last year. Rides all the tube.slides like a pro and even rides the maui wowee by himself.  Liz came and Colton had fun with her and Sisi!

Colton now tells us he has a favorite color... GREEN!!  He has his favorite shirt on.  He says it says 6 because he looks down at the number.  :)  He has been asking to wear green shirts a lot, but he only has three of them.  Ha!

Carrots!!

Gooey loves pieces of cooked carrots, avocado pieces, and plum pieces.  He also likes pieces of bananas too!!  What a big boy!!

All 4 kiddos were at Miss Susie's house today!!!

Missy & John were working on getting their house ready to sell, so Miss Susie had all FOUR kiddos today.  Colton told me that Emmaline cried a lot, and he thinks it's because her mom left her at Miss Susie's.  Then he said maybe she had a tootie stuck.  HA!

First day of school!

Yesterday was the first day of preschool for Colton at Gaines Country Preschool!  He had lots of fun and made a new friend, Ava. But its not the Ava with Mattea ya know!  He was excited to go and said that Mr. Phil would be the best teacher!

Boat out!!

Pulled the boat out of Lake Alice after the last ride of the season.  Gooey is in his carseat in the buggy, Colton said, "look how grody that is on the bottom!"

Riding Home

On the way home from "The Lakehouse Resort and Family Fun Center in Waterport, NY USA of North America," last night, Colton says to me, "I'm a bit of a grump right now."

Colton woke up saying I can't remember who got hurt...  Then later he said I REMEMBER!! It was Ava.  I got blood on my hands.  I gotta go fix Ava. 

I asked some questions and learned she got hurt in Colton's dream when she fell off the boat.  He then told me after I finish my yogurt I gotta get all this blood off my hands then we can go to Ava's doctor.

Colton got mulch, got to ride in the loader even!  When he got home he declared mulch is stinky.  Dont touch it or youll get stinky poopy hands.  It is only for big boys up here, no babies and no big mamas like you.  Ha!!!

We were sad for uncle bunky and missed aunt patti today. 

Babysitter!!!

Today was a BIG DAY!  Colton's first young babysitter came over to our house to "hang out" while Mommy & Daddy were both at work.  He had a great time riding his gator outside and playing.  Maddox went to visit Aunt Debbo and Uncle Bruce.  While Gooey didn't drink any of his bottle, he did do a good job of eating fruit in his mesh feeder, and he stayed happy the whole time.  :)  Great behavior, boys!!!  We are so proud of you!
